Telltale Games released a brand new Sam and Max game "The Penal Zone" last month. It's their third Sam and Max series and debuted on Playstation 3, PC, Mac and iPad. LucasArts "Sam and Max: Hit the Road" which was released on PC back in 1993 remains one of the funniest video games ever made. This makes any Telltale Sam & Max game have a lot to live up to, when you compare it to that classic. Telltale is up to the challenge and continues to make great strides with their technology. It's been a few years since Season 2 of Sam & Max and with the expanding companies additional resources they've produced their best video game to date.
Heavy Rain is heavy on the emotional drama while taking video games to a new level

Heavy Rain is a video game unlike any other. The Playstation 3 exclusive was released to heavy acclaim and sales, selling 500,000 in it's first week. It is not a traditional video game in today's current marketplace. The highest selling games these days are first person shooters. Even though the average gamer is 30 there is not much maturity in video game storytelling. Killing and murdering people for enjoyment is as far as it goes. Heavy Rain changes all that. It is a deep emotional journey that draws you in and poses tough life choices.
A historic Agriculture department and University

That familiar musky smell of a hallway wafts through the cold sterile environment. Walking the corridor, white light creeps out from under a lab door. A water tap sits outside the office door; I stop to take a drink. The tap cannot muster up more than a dribble. I move past the old, disused lift and up the flight of dark gray steps into a wall of memories. Memories, of growing up in RL Reid Building. Bob Reid was the founding Professor of Agriculture at La Trobe University. La Trobe University celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, it has a rich and proud history, and so does this Agriculture department.
Can the iPad save journalism?
Apple announced the long awaited and long-rumored iPad today. It has a poorly chosen name but will it bring newspapers and journalism into the 21st century? The newspaper industry was caught well behind when the Internet launched onto the masses in the late 90s. They were left flat footed by backward thinking old media institutions. Is this a chance to save journalism?
Is “In Treatment” the best show on television right now?

In Treatment is a tour de force in acting led by one of the finest actor's in the last half century, Gabriel Byrne. His portrayal of therapist Paul is nuanced, layered, and eminently real. If you haven't seen this show, now's the time to discover HBO's hidden gem. True Blood may get all the ratings and the hype, but there is no better television than In Treatment.

The Shield wrapped up its final season at the end of 2008. I bought the final season on dvd in the middle of last year but only recently did I get a chance to watch it. It is a good season, with an interesting finale. Some of what happened to the characters in the end I didn't quite agree with. Although on the whole the writers got a lot of things right.
Friday Night Lights: The best TV show you are not watching

Friday Night Lights is now into the middle of its fourth season. It's an often overlooked show but one of the best drama's on TV right now. The misconception that stops a lot of people tuning in is that it is about American Football. The show is really about a small town in Texas. The town is full of very interesting characters, and that's where the show spends most of its time. Exploring some very complex people trying to survive in a small town. Football is a huge part of the town but that acts as the backdrop. The longer the show goes on, the less it becomes about football.

I got Fringe on Amazon's Black Friday deals for a very good price. I haden't heard much about it, mostly mixed reviews, but I thought I'd try it out. I remember the hype leading up to the pilot but it didn't grab my attention. So I got the first season and I really was pleasantly surprised. Fringe has strong characters, interesting storylines, and a fantastic season wide arc. If you haven't seen this show, it's worth jumping on board.
Al B. Sure returns with Honey, I’m Home

Al B. Sure recorded some classics."Nite and Day" was irrepressible. It remains one of my favorite songs today. It captures a mood. His falsetto was so strong, the emotion poured out and touched a lot of people. Still Al B. Sure hasn't released any new music in a long time. He now hosts a radio show in California. Finally he released a new album this year entitled, "Honey, I'm Home." It's an impressive return from a RnB legend.
Sherlock Holmes: Good Fun

Those Sherlock Holmes trailers were interesting. Didn’t really look too much like Sherlock. I don’t remember him being an action hero and beating up guys all the time. The casting of Robert Downey Jr. was the key. That convinced me to go see it as soon as it was released. It’s an interesting [...]
