It's really sad when shows like this become popular. Just goes to show how sick people are in the mind.

I agree. Season 3 was again superb but I think it's just too difficult a TV show for most people to watch. Really sad to see such a quality show end.

I watched all of Season 1 in a week (versus six months) and found your description just as identifiable. I empathized for all of the characters but looked forward to seeing what happened next, I couldn't of stopped to watch a Comedy if I wanted to. I had to know where these peoples lives were going, including Paul.

I think you can marathon it but no matter how you slice it, it is an intelligent show for open-minded people. It is far different than anything I have ever seen on TV and I think fewer people may enjoy it than most other HBO, SHOWTIME, etc, shows but the ones who do enjoy it will absolutely love it. It's definitely a one of a kind show that I will miss.

Really? What didn't you like about the book? Everyone who has read it has enjoyed it. I certainly wouldn't call it a "writing exercise" It contains a lot of my deeper thoughts on life & I am quite proud of it.

This is one of the worst things I've ever read. I can't imagine you're going to sell much of this crappy self-published writing exercise. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to fleece anyone out of their money.

In Treatment seems to be a really great show but my DISH co-worker told me it has been canceled. That makes me sad because now I can't see it but I know there will always be reruns of it. Be sure to watch the rerun of "In Treatment" with DISH and save your money rather than waste it on any other company! www.BestTVForMe.com.

[...] The prediction that every journalist has to adapt to the change to the ‘multimedia platform’ is becoming obvious. New sites have begun integrating ‘multimedia’ into their online sites. This also means opportunities are for those journalists working for whatever media outlet to embrace this.
Point of clarification, Dex didn't kill "people who dispose of immigrants". He killed people involved in human trafficking, essentially slave traders. People who enter the country illegally sometimes pay a premium to be treated like garbage because they have nowhere to turn since they have broken the law to enter in the first place. Disposing of immigrants would be walking up to a guy who moved legally from another nation and killing them.

I know it may not be PC to make this distinction but it is an important one. Dexter was in a roundabout way defending the most vulnerable.

Another interesting aspect of Dexter’s character is that he makes you uncomfortable at times because you do grow to like him. He is compulsive, psychotic and human. While he tries to live up to the Code of Harry its principles seem malleable and depending on his desires Dex justifies killing people who may or may not deserve his wrath. These are not always “other serial killers”.

An example of an uncomfortable murder for me as a viewer was when he decided to kill the drunk driver who had moved from state to state but repeatedly endangered, mangled or killed people with his behavior. Dexter killed him with no qualms while I was thinking; maybe this guy has a disease? Alcoholism is defined as one- perhaps intervention is required here? Dexter decides that the dude should die and so he does him.

This was a case of Dexter needing to feed his appetite imo, as a police employee there were many, many ways to put this guy away. In fact the night he murdered him Dexter bought him a drink and then let him leave the bar drunk to drive home. He baited his victim to justify his murder.

Another was when he killed the Bay Harbor Copycat. Dexter has to goad him into confessing that he killed other people, namely the guy at work whose wife he was sleeping with in order to kill him. If memory serves though this doesn’t happen until he’s in plastic wrap on the table. We then get commentary from the cops who find his dismembered body that this “might be a good thing” because the Butcher may be trying to discourage other vigilante copycats. I thought this was a weak point in the show writing honestly. I think the writers knew that the audience would have a problem with Dexter killing a guy who killed someone that assaulted his grandmother and killed drug dealers.
